This school year I'd like to be able to offer my 5th grade students flexible seating options to create a warm and inviting classroom culture that recognizes and supports the individual needs of all students. Flexible seating gives students a chance to exercise autonomy in their learning environment. It also helps students to feel comfortable and create a space for themselves to be successful during the school day. With flexible seating options, I picture a classroom full of students comfortably enjoying independent reading books, collaborating on projects, and completing daily assignments. All in all, my students have a variety of learning needs that can help be met by giving them the tools they need to create a personalized learning space.
