Currently, my students are unable to use any computers or tablets in my classroom. As I mentioned, this is a new school and the Chromebooks that they do have are a hot commodity that are used in the Reading and Math classes. If my grant was funded I would have 3 tablets that would be for my Gifted students use only. This semester we are learning about the Ocean and my students would learn so much by researching and watching videos of the plants and animals in action on educational sites such as National Geographic. Students will use programs such as Sway and PowerPoint to create exciting projects. They will also learn how to code using websites like Tynker. Having this resource will help build creative and critical thinking skills, research skills, and team building in my gifted students.
