This is my second project on DonorsChoose.org. It is vital that students see themselves in the curriculum and also have windows to other perspectives of the world. I am trying to increase engagement in my class by using graphic novels and bringing in more diverse voices into the history classroom. I am so thankful to the community for this opportunity. I am hoping that it will make a difference for my students this year and that I can add more titles to grow my collection over time. Graphic novels are especially useful for my English Language Learners because anytime that you can add images to the text it helps them with context.
