My kindergarten students love free choice time! I would say for some, it is the highlight of their day. They often ask me, is it free choice time yet? My students learn many skills during this "play time", including social emotional learning and problem solving, just to name a few. Due to COVID restrictions last school year, I made a limit of 2 kids per activity. With that restriction in place, I had to scramble to come up with more activities for free choice time. Going into this school year, I will keep the 2 student/activity in place. The items I chose from Lakeshore will engage kids with counting, letter and number recognition, and role-playing. I chose the materials/toys from Lakeshore to enhance this free choice time but also to keep the students engaged safely.
