Simply put, our students need books in their hands! Many of the things we loss during the pandemic span of 2020 and 2021 cannot have a price tag placed on them. This includes the learning loss many of our young learners generated during their venture in virtual learning. Much of this loss has been attributed to limited access of printed reading materials or books that they can and want to read. Now that they are returning to their classrooms this is our chance to reignite their reading flame. Cultivating a genuine classroom culture that fosters a love for reading by providing books that spark their interests, will ignite the fire in these young readers and help us begin to close some of these pandemic induced learning gaps.
