Microscopes and science go hand in hand. It is one of those tools that you immediately think of when you think "science". Right now, my school does not have access to any microscopes which means my students are missing out on so many activities that they could be actively participating in and learning from. The chance to see the hidden world right in front of you can be life-changing. Teaching at the 5th grade level affords me the opportunity to ignite the spark of passion for science. The microscope that I am requesting will allow me to show the students things that they may have never seen before. This particular model of microscope allows me to connect to our in class projector so every student can see at the same time without having to share the eye-piece which also helps keep them safe from any germs that may be floating around - a win-win!
