When in an in person classroom setting teachers often have a "Treasure Box" that students get to dig in when they are exemplifying good behaviour, academic achievement, and showing kindness. This really helps with student engagement. We want to recreate this feeling for our online students. More over the students will also get that great feeling of not only getting the prize they picked out but of getting something in the mail. Learning from home should not mean that students miss out on some of the extrinsic motivators that in person classrooms get.
