Everything that is included in this list will help my students become more engaged in lessons that will then turn into learning more material at their young age. Kindergarten and first graders are a sponge to material so whatever we can do to engage and make learning fun is a must. We have already used a paper based version of what we will be doing on the iPads, and it works; however, adding technology will give my students more opportunity for breaks and further thinking beyond the material that is given during the school day. This project will help my students be more engaged and learn material through technology. We have already tested out this technology, that we have borrowed from another teacher, with the students and the engagement was higher than ever before. They could complete their work, do an extended activity or even take a break if they were getting frustrated. They loved having something to take care of and something that was making learning FUN! We have completed our math and ELA blocks with the technology and have been able to move faster through the curriculum so that we can expand their minds at school.
