My new classroom is bare bones. As a first year teacher I don't have any of the supplies or materials that come with years of experience. I've selected materials that will help make science an approachable and hands on process for students of all learning styles. I'd like for my students to learn biology by adopting a small plot of our forest and building and planting a garden bed in the spring. I've also selected materials for making the many nuances of English as interesting and varied as possible. Grammar, composition, literature, and vocabulary can get complicated and I am hopeful to create integrated activities that give students an opportunity to practice expressing themselves and to grow as writers in the process.
