I want to create a makerspace within the classroom for students to work collaboratively and use their critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and creativity. With the use of STEM makerspace kits, students will have access to a variety of makerspace experiences. A makerspace is not only for creation and innovation but for development of social skills and team building. Students will need to work collectively and communicate with one another while utilizing the makerspace. I want to give my students the opportunity to experience a hands-on makerspace with these materials. Students will build with Unifix Cubes. They will build and test models. They will make vehicles and design parachutes. My hope is to fill my classroom with makerspace items they can explore and engage with STEM. Help make this an experience the students will remember!
