I remember being a student in 3rd grade and my favorite place to hide from the stressors of my community was our schools library, curled up in a snug corner with a good fantasy or horror book. Today our students are blessed to have small reading nooks inside the classrooms where literacy exposure can be a full day experience versus specific library trips which are usually biweekly. I want to provide my students with current books that reflect their current experiences. Majority of our reading materials are outdated and are no reflective of the students. it is imperative to understand your students cultures and the community that will help mold these bright and innovative minds.

About my class
