We do so many hands on activities in my classes and now I want to incorporate non-fictional texts into my curriculum, offer books for enrichment, and curate a little library of science-y texts to have available. The books I chose are high-interest topics, like "The Science of Star Wars" and "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind", to really grab their attention and hopefully create some lifelong readers. If I can expose just one student to the love of reading, I would consider this a job well done. Help me increase the literacy rate among these kids and maybe make a few readers out of them.
