Social and Emotional Learning and sensory play therapy are important paired with academics. Students learn and grow on many different levels. Sensory and play therapy can break down many walls while self regulating thoughts and feelings. Students will be able to utilize sensory tables, tools, and fidgets during the academic day to navigate the emotional turbulence of Elementary school. Students thrive on social interaction and a sensory station will give students the ability to build meaningful relationships with peers. My students have been working on their assertiveness skills and have asked for more sensory and fidget tools. Hopefully, this Donors Choose Project will make their dreams come true!
