In Kindergarten it is important to teach many foundational math and reading skills. A huge part of this is recognizing patterns, noticing similarities and differences, and thinking outside of the box. Giving students tools that allow them to freely build different creations forces students to problem-solve on their own. This creates a sense of independence for students which is an amazing skill for Kindergarteners to strengthen and one that can continue to be applied during our more traditionally taught content. These centers are designed to be easy on students' minds which allows them to find their creative side and gain confidence through feeling successful and proud of their work. Creating time for students to utilize centers is huge in allowing students to achieve a growth mindset as the sky is the limit. So please, if you can, consider supporting my project. It will majorly and positively impact my students and classroom. Many of these students do not have opportunities for structured play that allows for learning and growth at home. It will make all the difference and thanks in advance for your generosity!
