The books I have added to my project are all stories and literature that will connect to key concepts and state standards. The books will serve as a tool to gain student interest before diving into specific concepts. It is important to use mentor texts when teaching subjects like math, social studies, and science, because it allows students to make connections between ELA and other subjects. I have also included art supplies, as well as supplies for myself to help the students learn. This includes a white board, which I intend to use for my phonics lessons, chart paper (for poems and modeling), as well as other resources.
