With these invaluable resources, my 5th graders will be able to not only learn about influential artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, but they will also be able to use the same methods that they did to create artist inspired art work. As Georgia O'Keefe says "I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for. " Art was a way for Georgia to express herself when words simply did not do the job. We will be painting a Georgia O'Keefe inspired large scale painting using the oil pastels and we will use the clay and paints to create a mixed median art project. These supplies will allow students to express themselves in new and powerful ways.
