Everyone needs a break from time to time. In the "Chill Zone" my high school students with developmental and physical disabilities will have age appropriate flexible seating and the sensory tools to relax and refocus for the next lesson. In this area of the classroom, students can enjoy a good book, magazine, and have an opportunity to practice skills during break time or when a break is needed. Students will also benefit from the use of chair cushions and help them focus on lessons at their desk. My students work hard everyday and would benefit daily from alternative seating options.
