My students are often hungry throughout their school day, whether it is from taking medications, lacking enough food in their home environments, or just growing! When working with students striving to over come emotional/behavioral struggles, I try to eliminate every barrier I possibly can. When tummies aren't growling, we are able to focus on learning and creating connections. My classroom also runs on a Behavior Modification Level System. We utilize snacks as one of the items students may purchase from our school using points they have earned from making good choices throughout their day. My kiddos are very "food oriented" so I would like to offer different snacks that they usually don't receive at home.
