Education has been rapidly changing and the furniture in our classrooms does not reflect the advancements of the last 50 years. Our current classroom furniture limits opportunities to create different learning spaces and support different learning styles. With these flexible seating options, students are better able to collaborate or choose an area of the classroom where they learn best. The goal of this project is to meet the needs of all of my students by providing each child voice and choice in their physical learning environment. The Surf Portable Lap Desks, wobble cushions, and ball seats allow for students who struggle with traditional classroom seating and arrangements to move around the room and perform their best. It supports collaborative activities like novel studies, math games, or group research. With these flexible seating options, the classroom can be transformed to have designated areas for different learning purposes.
