I use a microwave in the class to teach the preparation of healthy meals while I demo and the students taste test the products. The students can relate to using a microwave at home as most students have one. Students are surprised at how many full meals can be prepared in a microwave with minimal cost. I would love a microwave to use in the class for demonstrating and the students completing labs to get practical hands-on experience. The students can compare and contrast cooking techniques using conventional methods too.
