I know I can't sit still for 6 hours, so why should I expect my babies to be able to? In my many years of teaching, I have learned that comfort and flexibility impacts student learning and engagement. I had an A student who had to take all of his test under the desk. Why would I deny him that as long as it was safe and effective. It was! We are not cookie cutter students, so why should we have cookie cutter learning environments. I want my students to have choices. One of the choices I want to afford them is where and how they complete the task at hand. Some may feel more comfortable sitting at there desk, but many , if given the chance will choose wok on the rug, sit on a cushion or the bench in my room. I am asking for help in creating a comfortable, suitable and inviting flexible seating environment, so that my students can work in comfort. I know that this choice will help to create a more independent, collaborative , and engaging learning experience. Help me help my babies! Thank you in advance!
