These books will enhance my classroom library by providing novels that are representative of the students in my classroom. They will be able to see themselves in the pages of these books. Additionally, they will be able to engage meaningfully with characters that look like them, talk like them, and have similar experiences as them. I will use this classroom library to encourage independent reading and discussions among my students that will help them connect to the characters and their peers. My goal is to promote a community of readers.
