The main goal of my AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) classes is to "Shape College Futures" by closing the opportunity gap in preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. I have the honor of looping with my AVID scholars for all 4-years of their high school experience and this year I have SENIORS to support & celebrate as they work towards and achieve their college dreams! For the past 10+ years, our AVID program has achieved a 100% acceptance rate for our diverse scholars, the majority of whom are first generation college students and we LOVE to celebrate these individual achievements. Utilization of the Polaroid Instant Camera in our AVID Senior classroom will give access to creating technology that would allow me to capture the excitement of "acceptance days" on film & immediately post these photo memories to our acceptance pennants display! With your help, my senior scholar's college dreams coming true can be instantly celebrated with their AVID family!
