These books will foster a love for learning in students by allowing students the freedom to choose content that they can relate to. There aren't people who truly hate reading, simply those who haven't opened the right book. I will be using a classroom library to parallel the units that we do in class so students can reinforce the genres, social issues, and content we cover through a myriad of other books. A diversity of books leads to a diversity of thoughts, and getting students to think is the ultimate goal.
