Working in a self-contained classroom at a Title 1 school and being a first-year teacher, my resources, manipulatives's and tools for teaching are very limited. I put this project together after really looking at my student's IEP's and researching resources to help them begin to understand letter sounds, write their name as well as start to form short CVC words. With a mix of 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade and a whole array of different goals these resources will ensure each child gets individual attention, specifically suited for their learning goals. After a rough year of home school learning, many of my Special Education students suffered as technology and teaching students with disabilities through the screen was too challenging and for them. These hands-on , fun, and educational resources, ensure they can learn by doing, work together, and trial and error with the support from a teacher who loves them.
