Teaching in a district with a high poverty rate, it is clear how financial incapacity directly affects the quality of education. The materials requested here are just the basic things these students should have. As their teacher, I am hoping to at least provide the minimum requirements a classroom needs in order to help the students achieve their maximum potentials. Once there are enough materials, a mechanism will be put up so students can come to the classroom and ask for these materials that can they can bring and use for another subject, or even at their own homes. A printer is requested to be able to provide a set of individualized modules/worksheets that students can use to learn on their own. Mathematics is one of the subjects which requires a lot of practice and understanding of the prerequisite concepts, and this is not really provided by the books given to them. Other materials, such as the whiteboards, are also on this project to better monitor the student's individual level of understanding during discussions.
