The after school Science Club at Eagle River Elementary fosters the love of Science in students grades K-6th. In 2018 the 8.2 Alaskan Earthquake, destroyed our school. Now, as we come back into the remodeled building for the first time since 2018, I will open up Science Club! There are two clubs, K-3rd grade and 4th-6th grade which run on seperate days 3:30pm-5:30pm. The Science Club is very popular and works with a largely underserved population. I have 80+ applications yearly which I take about 58 students on my own without volunteers generally. Many former students have told me they seek out STEM related classes or clubs when they go to Middle School and High School because of the Eagle River Elementary Science Club.
