Most students perceive Math as a difficult and frustrating subject. They hate the idea of showing their work because to them it is non-sense. This is one of the reasons why most students in a regular math class do not reach the expectations and level of proficiency they need. As a teacher whose teaching principle is anchored on meaningful learning experiences by crafting learning material that makes sense, I believe that the power of visuals helps most students understand the mathematical process, thus improving their level of proficiency. By providing students with printed learning guides, notes, and practice worksheets that make sense and suit their visual appeal would be a big help to motivate them to show evidence of their learning. Learning materials are essential to their understanding. Making these materials meaningful and sensible is a challenge and requires extra time to craft. However, having the equipment readily available in the classroom would be a great help in the process to motivate students to work be it in school or from home.
