This year I am teaching 7th grade ELA for the first time. My goal is to use these class novels to create project based learning opportunities through reading each semester. These novels are highly rated and relatable for 7th grade students. These will be used as supplemental texts to help teach personal narratives, comparison and contrast, and persuasive writing. These novels cover standards, and also share life lessons and real scenarios for other students their age. The use of novels that are relatable to students will help with engagement and foster a love of reading.
