Through the use of flexible seating, my students will be able to have the choice to sit and learn as they please. Flexible seating will be used as a classroom management technique in the fact that the students will have to earn the privilege to sit in places other than their traditional desks. The items that will be used for flexible seating are things such as chair bands to help aid students with ADHD, ADD, or simply need something extra to keep their bodies distracted but their minds focused. Another item we are requesting are stability balance disks that will allow the students to sit on them during our small group rotations. Lastly, we are asking for plastic stools that will be distributed around the classroom to give the students the opportunity to choose those seats instead of traditional desks/chairs.
