This project will help fund much needed social emotional learning supports such as fidgets, anxiety & stress reducing materials, mindfulness activities and community building tools. Social emotional learning will be essential as we prepare to re-enter school after the trauma of living through the pandemic. My students are struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, and uncertainty while also developmentally still learning how to cope with these feelings. Social emotional learning resources will support my students cope, positively process emotions, build trusting relationships, as well as keep their minds focused. While adversity impacts learning, these effects can be mitigated by opportunities to develop strong social emotional skills.
