Our ESL population doubled last year. I’ve been hired to provide ESL classes to our wonderful, linguistically diverse students! Unfortunately, no funding has been approved for this program at my district, so we are starting from scratch. I will use these resources to create a safe, inclusive space for my students, to travel between buildings and classrooms, and to provide a robust ESL curriculum, teaching grammar and vocabulary, along with diverse literature available at my students’ levels. These texts are a mix of classic American literature and multicultural literature to provide both doors and windows for these learners as they read.
