The use of whiteboards is a daily activity in my classroom. Students use the whiteboards to express their ideas and share their thinking to not only me, but to their peers as well which allows for higher engagement and more peer collaboration. The biggest challenge with using a whiteboard is how quickly the dry erase markers dry out. This disrupts the flow of a conversation & mathematical discourse when students need to retrieve a new marker. By having more dry erase markers available, students will avoid disrupting the flow of conversation and stay engaged.
