This is going to be my second year as a teacher and teaching science. Last year I had some generous colleagues who shared some of their limited supplies with me. This year I have a better idea of what supplies my students need on a daily basis and for labs. Having these items in my classroom readily available will help streamline my lessons and labs for my students. The map, globes, and flashlights will be used to demonstrate the motion of the planets, eclipses, seasons, moon phases, plate tectonics, continental drift, and to continue to explore an evolving earth. Pencils and erasers are always going to in short supply! I give these items out daily to my students, and they are imperative to their success not only in my classroom, but in others. The card stock will be used in continental drift and plate tectonics lab. I have found that regular paper is too thin to hold its shape for this lab. We will also use the colored pencils and scissors for our labs, scaled drawings and flip books through-out the year. I will continue to use these supplies in the coming years as well.
