These books will help students love to read. I have chosen books that are fascinating, mysterious, and funny. They will be using these books for book studies during intervention time in which they will read with their peers and complete certain assignments and projects based on the book. Assignments include a vocabulary study, comprehension questions, summarizing skills, inferring, extension activities, and an end of book assessment/project. Each person in the group will have a different job. For example, there will be a group leader that will present the book to the rest of the class after they have finished their book study. This will help my students build their reading stamina and learn to love reading. It is my hope that if students love to read and grow, they will continue to be successful and productive students throughout their educational career and into adulthood.
