Reading and art appreciation are both integral parts of my lesson planning. I want my students to learn to research and to seek and learn about art that they are passionate about and hopefully grow to become an adult that recognizes and appreciates all types of art. I also want my students to develop a love for reading. If my project is fully funded, my students will have access to an amazing art room library full of books about artists and the art that made them famous and other books with amazing art and illustration to spark creativity. Students in K-2nd will be introduced to different artists and art through story books and my 3rd-5th grade students will be able to read and discover things about artists and their lives through biographies and other informational books.
