These items will be used for incentives when the students make daily and weekly goals on their computerized reading program. Students are expected to read a story and complete questions with an 80% accuracy in order to earn a reward. That is where the mints, bubble gum, and jolly ranchers will be awarded. If they get a combo, two stories in a row with 80% or higher, the reward will be even greater. Chips and combos for earning a combo will be rewards. Students progress in the program by earning combos and after earning approximately ten combos, students move up an entire grade level. I have used this system for several years and it works to reward the students instantly. Also, cleaning supplies are essential for keeping surfaces clean and virus-free.
