I place emphasis on mathematics and science because the majority of my students think these areas are complicated. I have experienced the effectiveness of math stations where my students manipulate and reinforce what they learn as a class. They are hungry for more stations in the classroom. By expanding these learning stations in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, STEM becomes the whole iceberg instead of just the tip. Exposure is key! Having microscopes in the classroom will enable my students to visualize the beauty of unseen microscopic life. Science and engineering kits will not only enhance opportunities in the classroom setting, but students will develop and maintain a lifelong passion to major in the hard to fill STEM career positions in the future.
