My students love to play video games and know so much about them. This novel will allow us to combine these two things in a way that will be both fun and educational. Students can use their background knowledge of gaming to build comprehension and responsive writing. This exciting novel will be a solid accompaniment to our genre study because it is written with lots of illustrations at a reading level at which my students will be successful. We will utilize reading strategies like context clues and inferring to really dig into this book. Students will also write alternate endings based on their predictions of the book.
