My students have asked for an afterschool cooking club and I need help providing this to them. With a constructive activity to fill their time afterschool it will reduce the amount of trouble they get themselves into as well as provide them a safe violence free environment. Students will learn career skills, such as communication and teamwork, in a culinary atmosphere. Students will practice math skills such as fractions and measuring mass. ELAR skills will be practiced while reading recipes and acquiring new vocabulary. Students will be socially and emotionally supported with a fun afterschool program where deeper connections can be made with their peers.
