I am requesting age-appropriate read alouds and books my students can read themselves. Our classroom has very few books. I hope to provide students with a diverse and interesting library so they can learn to love reading. I have looked for books that will teach social and emotional learning as well as show diverse backgrounds and perspectives. These books will provide our class with material to read aloud and discuss as a class. I have also included books that students will be able to read on their own. Engaging stories and pictures are key at this level. I hope to allow students to get hands-on experience choosing books they love.
