Each week, our science teachers want to ensure students have access to hands on experiments and projects to accelerate their curiosity and critical thinking skills. Our students have learned through a computer screen for the past 17 months and we aim to give our students the education they deserve as we welcome them back. During the life cycle unit, students will see how the caterpillars change into chrysalises and then into butterflies. The students then get to set the caterpillars free to continue the life cycle we just learned about. With the crystal forming kits, students will learn how crystals are created and what type of environments are needed for these formations to occur. Our students are typically used to gaining information through books, articles, and videos. This year, more than ever, we want students to have hands on experiences to deepen their understanding of the world around us, and use critical thinking skills to ask and answer questions.
