In our classroom, much of the teaching is done at "the carpet." We have a large carpet area in the corner of the room where we gather several times per day. Carpet time is one of the most treasured times in our classroom! It's where we do our morning meetings and where many new concepts are taught. When we gather together, we are able to connect and collaborate best. The cushions will help keep us comfortable while learning valuable skills. Although we have nice desks, the close proximity of carpet time helps keep focus, aids in cooperation, and builds positive classroom relationships.
