Many studies have shown that exercise bikes help students with ADHD focus and learn. In my classroom, the majority of my students have ADHD and struggle to learn in a typical classroom environment. Things like wiggle seats and stools can be helpful, but are often not enough. I have tried dance breaks and class races to help them reset but those things take a lot of precious time. I have a very limited window of opportunity with students so I need to make every minute count. Pedal bikes would allow them to keep learning without having to stop for a motor break. I want to do whatever I can to help my students be successful in my room and in their mainstream classes as well. My students are smart, capable kids but they need a little help to bring that out. Thank you for considering this project!
