I am requesting books my students can choose to read at their independent level. With these leveled books, my students will have ample opportunities to choose best fit books to read independently or with a buddy. Independent reading promotes reading confidence, social skills, strong vocabulary, and life long learning. Students will read, discuss, and write about their chosen books. I will create independent leveled book boxes where students can go throughout the day to choose their best fit books to read. Students will move through the leveled boxes as their reading level improves. Each box will include several genres and topics that spark student interest.
