Students will be able to identify and write time to the hour and half hour using clocks; tell the difference between the hour and hand minute hand on the clock. Students will learn about countries by studying maps and globes; including information about its landforms, bodies of water, natural resources and climate. Students will learn about the symbols and tools of maps, such as the compass rose, key and titles that help distinguish one map from another. Students will utilize the books to read and develop critical thinking skills. They will read to activate and reinforce other skills like: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing. The magnetic folders will keep papers organized during centers/small groups. The chair will be used in centers during reading time. My students read to become better readers and for enjoyment. The bookmarks will be a reward when they meet their reading goals. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase interactive activities and handouts that the textbook does not supply. Also, I can utilize the paper and ink to print out these activities.
