These books will be made available for students to read in the classroom or at home. We have a Reading Corner with a rug and bean bags so that students can be comfortable while they practice Independent Reading time. They are allowed to take these books home to continue practicing reading and give them access to books they might not have access to from home. Giving students access to books in their line of interest greatly increases their desire to read and provides them the opportunity to make choices in their own reading. Many of my students ask for these books but it is beyond my budget to buy them. As a first year teacher I've purchased most of my personal library collection from thrift stores and I wasn't able to find the requested titles in these stores. It would be wonderful if I could provide students some of the books they have asked for.
