Research shows that active learning chairs, like these wobble stools, can help students decrease off-task behavior and increase academic performance. If there's one thing I know middle schoolers, it's that they weren't designed to sit in a hard chair for 5 to 6 hours a day. I've seen it first hand, these kids come out of the lower grades and suddenly are expected to sit and work at a desk all day like mini-accountants! It can be a tough transition. I couldn't even do it now. I'm always up on my feet and moving around. I have a real passion for reading and writing and want to do everything I can to pass that along to my students. But I can't do that if they're uncomfortable and unfocused!
