Students will be able to sit collaboratively on the carpet during whole group and focus on the material being presented, opposed to seating at their tables for a long duration of time. The desire to learn and share on an essential classroom item such as a rug is greatly emphasized. When you gather students up for circle time, a carpet is the destination spot that serves as a great anchor for student success. Students won’t have to question where to sit, or spread out very far because the rug becomes the destination and the edges of the rug serve as a defined space for them to sit. Also, a carpet doesn’t take up too much space and offers comfortable cushioning for students to sit, lay, and play on top of. It will be our main gathering point for seating during specific learning activities throughout the school year.
