Flexible seating is beneficial in a variety of ways - By allowing students to move while they sit, wobble stools keep young minds alert and focused during learning time. They also allow for variety and excitement. In determining who uses what seating each day, students learn valuable communication and cooperation skills. Due to stimulating other senses, these types of chairs can also benefit students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. Students want to feel like they have a say in their classroom - By providing choice, they will be able to feel more included in our classroom community. And finally, different types of seating can be a lot of fun! Students enjoy being able to do something new - From getting special seats at group tables to cushions during reading time. I hope to bring a smile to each student's face every morning, and these flexible seating options will help me achieve that goal!
